It’s a natural process of change
Everyone gets older and as time goes by our skin loses moisture, its texture changes and lines and wrinkles develop.
You can help delay these signs of ageing by not smoking and avoiding prolonged exposure to the sun. Applying moisturiser regularly and limiting the amount of alcohol you drink can also help.
We are now pleased to announce two treatments to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and add volume to the skin.
These treatments start from as little as £150 for areas such as crow’s feet and £200 for lip enhancement. However, each patient has different requirements and so we recommend a free consultation to discuss your individual needs.
Dermal Fillers
In the skin, there is a compound called hyaluronic acid which gives skin its volume.
Unfortunately levels of this acid decline with age which results in the appearance of lines around the lips and nose, as well as reduced cheek, jaw and lip volume.
How are the wrinkles treated?
A fine syringe is used to inject the filler or relaxant into problem areas.
After discussing with your practitioner the areas you wish to have treated and the results you are looking for, a treatment session may take between 15 to 30 minutes.
The fillers used are hyaluronic acid based. This works by binding to water to create volume and this returns the skin to its normal contour. It is used for filling and smoothing lines and folds present at rest and for producing fuller and more sensuous lips.
The filler is injected from a syringe fitted with a very fine needle to minimise any discomfort. We will also use a local anaesthetic to numb the area.
After the injection, the smoothing effect can be seen straight away.
Over the following few hours, there may be some slight swelling or reddening around the injection sites. You are advised to apply ice immediately afterwards to minimise the risk of this happening. Any bruising will fade within days and can be effectively hidden with foundation.
The effects generally last for six to eight months so you will be advised of the appropriate timings for future return visits.
Muscle Relaxing Injections
Ageing is a natural process and many people want to feel good for their age with a natural look and seek out ways to help them achieve that.
Unlike the fillers described above, these injections target lines and wrinkles present during expression. For example, crow’s feet, frown lines and forehead lines.
The procedure involves the injection of small amounts of Botulinum Toxin into the facial muscles that are being treated. There may be a minimal amount of discomfort felt but we can use a topical anaesthetic cream to numb the area if you wish.
The results will take seven to fourteen days to appear and typically last for up to 3 to 4 months.
What side effects may I expect following treatment?
Side effects, if they occur, are usually temporary and mild to moderate. Any redness goes within half an hour so it’s possible to return to work straight after treatment.
Other side effects such as ptosis (drooping of the upper eyelid), these are temporary in nature. Any concerns you have can be discussed during your consultation.
